There are some basic steps such as cleansing, moisturise and most importantly exfoliate. Nevertheless, no matter the countless number of products you use without exfoliation it will result in the formation of dead skin. Due to which cells pile up causing sebum and dust particles to trap in pores inhibiting the absorption of nutrients resulting in the formation of clogged pores, whiteheads, and blackheads. What is exfoliation?

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin from your skin. However, if it is not done in the right way, it can do more harm than good. During exfoliation, the top layer of your is an essential step of almost every facial. Back in the day people were mad about exfoliation as they thought it was a deep cleansing step of skincare that helps with effective absorption of creams and serums. More importantly it was known to boost blood circulation and remove fine lines wrinkles. It is worthwhile to explore and try different exfoliation methods to find what suits you best.

Types of exfoliators

Physical exfoliators:

Physical exfoliators consist of tiny granules that rub onto your skin and remove all the dirt and dead skin stuck in your pores. It generally works by physically removing cells with visible scrubbing, which can be water-based or cream-based. It is done at home easily by using a cleansing sponge and dry brushing, stones, derma rollers, and loofahs these all are helpful in different ways. All you need to get started is a scrub. You can use it twice a week but not more than that. As over-scrubbing can damage your skin a lot. This method is easy, inexpensive, and reliable.

Chemical exfoliators:

These include chemicals and acid. When these acids are applied to the skin, they weaken the bond of the outer layer of the skin which results in shredding. A dose of powerful punch includes AHA which treats hyperpigmentation and reduces pores. Next comes BHA which has antiaging properties Now, the most prominent of these is salicylic acid as it works wonders for acne skin. These acids are mostly in liquid form and are used in small quantities.

Exfoliation is a crucial factor in taking care of aging skin when executed correctly. It will positively impact your skin by brightening up your skin and help you in avoiding wrinkles. Failure to exfoliate your face is the main cause of accumulation of dead skin. By ditching the dead skin it’s easy to over scrub and results in redness or rash that irritates the skin. Moreover, quality is better than quantity. Your main aim should be choosing the right product.
